Employee Relations Manager
Band 7 | NHS | Ongoing Contract
Lead complex employee relations cases and help shape a positive workplace culture.
Vivid Healthcare are recruiting for an experienced Band 7 Employee Relations Manager to join a busy NHS HR & OD team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with significant NHS Employee Relations experience to take ownership of complex ER matters while supporting managers to resolve issues through a restorative and compassionate approach.
Working closely with the Head of Employee Relations, you'll lead on complex casework, develop managers' confidence in handling people matters, and contribute to improving employee experience across the Trust.
The Role
You'll provide expert advice on a broad range of employee relations matters whilst managing your own complex caseload and overseeing the work of Senior ER Advisors. This is a varied position where no two days are the same, combining operational case management with service improvement and leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work and capability cases from start to finish.
- Provide expert HR and employment law advice to managers across the Trust.
- Support and develop the Employee Relations team, ensuring cases are managed efficiently and consistently.
- Lead investigations and attend formal hearings, presenting management cases where required.
- Build strong relationships with Trade Unions and senior stakeholders.
- Produce and analyse KPI reports to identify trends and improve the Employee Relations service.
- Develop and review HR policies, guidance and management resources.
- Deliver training to managers on Employee Relations policies and best practice.
- Deputise for the Head of Employee Relations when required.
What We're Looking For
We're Keen To Hear From Candidates Who Have
- Degree-level education.
- CIPD qualification and current registration.
- Extensive Employee Relations experience within the NHS or another large, complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
- Experience managing highly complex employee relations investigations.
- Previous leadership or line management experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within a unionised environment.
- The ability to influence senior managers and deliver positive outcomes.
