Driving Quality, Safety and Continuous Improvement

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Governance Manager to join our Divisional Governance Team.

This is a key role supporting the delivery of high-quality governance, patient safety, risk management and quality improvement across the Division. Working closely with clinical and operational leaders, you will help ensure robust governance systems are embedded in practice, support organisational learning, and drive improvements that enhance patient care and staff experience.

As Governance Manager, you will support the effective coordination and delivery of governance processes across the Division, working under the direction of the Deputy Head of Governance.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Supporting the implementation of the Trust's Quality Governance Framework.
  • Leading and coordinating governance activities including risk management, incident reporting, patient safety, complaints and clinical audit.
  • Supporting the implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and leading assigned learning responses and investigations.
  • Ensuring divisional risks are effectively managed, maintained and escalated where appropriate.
  • Producing high-quality governance reports, performance dashboards and assurance information for governance meetings.
  • Supporting compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Analysing and triangulating data from incidents, complaints, audits and patient feedback to identify themes, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinating divisional governance meetings, action plans and governance work programmes.

With a new hospital planned for Watford, work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital and plans for a neighbourhood healthcare centre in Hemel Hempstead, this is an exciting time to join us.
