Bank Activities Co-ordinator (Flexible Hours / Bring Joy!)

Coloma Court is a beautiful, purpose-built care home operated by The Healthcare Management Trust (HMT). Surrounded by peaceful fields and gardens in West Wickham, we are a dedicated non-profit home. About The Role

Are you creative, energetic, and looking for a flexible role where you can enrich the lives of older adults? We are looking for an inspiring Bank Activities Co-ordinator to step in and keep our home's community vibrant and connected.

In this role, you will bring energy, laughter, and purposeful experiences to our residents when regular cover is needed. From stepping in to lead group games and seasonal crafts to spending quiet, therapeutic one-to-one time with residents who have dementia, you will ensure our high standards of engagement never miss a beat.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver the Fun: Lead and participate in a diverse range of planned group and individual activities tailored to our residents’ unique interests.
  • Support Big Events: Help coordinate exciting themed calendar events, local outings, and community fundraising days alongside the Home Manager.
  • Build Meaningful Connections: Spend time with residents, families, and friends to discover their life stories, hobbies, and preferences.
  • Keep Clear Records: Maintain simple, accurate daily logs of resident participation to showcase their involvement and wellbeing.
  • Promote Well-Being: Report any changes in residents' physical or emotional health immediately to the Person in Charge, ensuring adult safeguarding is always maintained.

The Essentials

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven Experience: A track record of developing or organising events and activities for groups of varying physical or cognitive abilities.
  • Adaptable & Enthusiastic: The ability to step into the home, quickly build rapport with residents, and lead activities with confidence.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate smoothly with the permanent care team and relatives.

The Added Bonuses (Desirable But Not Essential)

  • Previous experience working within a residential care or nursing home setting.
  • A qualification in occupational or remedial therapies.
