We’re looking for a friendly, organised and customer-focused Bank Administrator to join our team and help deliver an exceptional experience for our patients.
As part of our Administration Team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of hospital services, ensuring patients, visitors and colleagues receive a professional, efficient and welcoming service at every interaction. You'll work across a variety of administrative functions, helping to keep patient pathways moving and supporting the delivery of outstanding patient care.
This is a Bank role; however, we are particularly interested to hear from candidates who can commit to working at least 3–4 days per week, or who are specifically looking for regular weekend work. The role offers flexibility while providing valuable experience within a busy healthcare environment.
What you'll be doing
As Our Bank Administrator, You Will Be
- Providing an efficient appointment booking service for patients across outpatient and theatre services.
- Handling telephone enquiries from patients, GP surgeries and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Supporting patients with appointment queries both over the phone and face-to-face.
- Contacting patients to offer earlier appointments and supporting the management of internal waiting lists.
- Processing referrals and maintaining accurate patient records using the Patient Administration System (PAS).
- Monitoring clinic and theatre lists to help maximise capacity and support RTT targets.
- Coordinating outpatient clinics and ensuring documentation is prepared and available when required.
- Working collaboratively with departments across the hospital to ensure patients receive a seamless service.

What we'll look for in you
With your previous experience in administrative, reception or customer service role, you will also have:
- Previous healthcare administration experience would be highly desirable, with an understanding of patient pathways and the importance of delivering excellent patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and compassionate approach.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence using computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to prioritise workload, manage competing demands and remain calm under pressure.
- A flexible approach to work, with availability to support weekday and/or weekend shifts.
- A genuine commitment to providing outstanding service and contributing positively to a team environment.
