The successful applicant will:
- Deliver quality personal care to each of our residents.
- Help residents with daily activities, including bathing, toileting, dressing, and ensuring their independence, dignity, and respect.
- Encourage residents struggling with eating or swallowing by providing a relaxing and pleasant mealtime environment, always maintaining dignity.
- Assist individuals with restricted mobility, safely moving them between social areas, homes, and privacy as requested.
- Regularly address continence needs, ensuring personal hygiene with care such as toileting, changing incontinence pads, and ensuring comfort to prevent skin deterioration.
- Follow care plans for less active residents, including turning and positioning to reduce pressure sore risks.
- Maintain bedroom areas—making beds, changing linens, emptying commodes, and cleaning.
- Responsibly clean equipment used in personal care (e.g., commodes, wheelchairs).
- Practice safe systems of work, particularly in moving and handling, assessing risks to ensure personal safety and resident safety.
- Understand Health and Safety at Work legislation—including moving and handling and fire safety procedures.
- Act with courtesy and respect toward residents and their visitors, ensuring they feel “at home.”
- Contribute to team collaboration, answering requests promptly, recording interactions, and adapting constructively.
- Maintain and report on any issues with care equipment.
- Store supplies and equipment safely and hygienically.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions regularly.
