About the department
Our Surgery Centre delivers outstanding day-case care in a fast-paced, specialist environment. Behind every successful procedure is a high-performing CSSD team ensuring instruments are safe, sterile, and ready when they matter most.
About the role
Join our Bank team as an Instrument Coordinator & CSSD Technician and play a vital role in keeping our theatres running safely and efficiently. You'll be responsible for decontaminating, sterilising, tracking, and preparing surgical instruments, helping to ensure exceptional patient care and a seamless surgical experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilise surgical instruments
- Operate CSSD equipment and complete quality assurance checks
- Maintain instrument tracking, inventory, and documentation
- Manage stock levels and support instrument loan processes
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and sterilisation standards
- Work closely with theatre teams to ensure instruments are available and procedure-ready
- Identify and escalate equipment or instrument issues promptly

About you
You are a proactive, detail-focused CSSD professional who thrives in a busy clinical environment. You understand that precision, organisation, and teamwork are essential to delivering safe surgical care.
You'll bring
- At least 1 year's CSSD or theatre experience
- Current BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of sterilisation and infection control practices
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A commitment to patient safety and high standards
