Band 2 Salary Scale: £26,696 - £28,988 per annum pro rata

Applications are invited from individuals with a driving licence and driving experience for the above post based in the Diagnostics Laboratory transport team based in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, flexibility and motivation to join our team of drivers.

The work involves collecting specimens from GP surgeries and hospitals across Tayside and one site in NHS Fife and delivering them to the laboratories in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

The post also involves the delivery of supplies and vaccines from Ninewells Hospital to service users, GPs, schools and NHS Tayside hospital and day care sites. Duties include the transportation of pathological specimens, some of which will contain biohazards, and some specimens will contain chemical hazards. Full training in transportation of these samples and spillage training will be given.

Applicants must have experience of driving light commercial vehicles and a knowledge of the local area across Dundee, Perth & Kinross and Angus. Experience of driving in a variety of conditions would also be an advantage.

Hours of work are: Bank shifts as required, Monday to Friday 07:45 – 18:15

Saturday and Sunday working may also be required.
