As a Bank Healthcare Assistant within our Ward team, you'll play a vital role in delivering high quality care and support to patients throughout their journey with us. Working alongside experienced clinical professionals, you'll help create a safe, welcoming and compassionate environment, ensuring every patient receives excellent care and attention. About The Role

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support the nursing team in the delivery of patient-centred care across the ward environment. You'll assist with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical duties, helping patients maintain their comfort, dignity and independence while contributing to the smooth running of the department.

This is a bank role, meaning you have the flexibility to pick up available shifts when it suits you.

What you'll be doing

In This Role You Will

  • Welcome and support patients and visitors within the ward environment.
  • Assist patients with personal care needs including hygiene, dressing and nutrition.
  • Monitor and record observations including weight, pulse, temperature and blood pressure.
  • Undertake urine testing and escalate concerns to a Registered Nurse.
  • Support patient mobility using appropriate moving and handling techniques.
  • Assist with infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe and organised ward environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues.
  • Support stock management and general ward administration duties.
  • Promote patient dignity, independence and wellbeing at all times.

What we'll look for in you

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Have

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards further qualifications.
  • Experience caring for others in a health, care or support setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A professional and compassionate approach to patient care.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work in a busy environment.
  • A flexible and positive attitude with a commitment to delivering high quality care.

Previous experience working in a hospital or ward environment would be advantageous.
