Housekeeping Assistant - Casual

We are looking for a Housekeeping Assistant - Casual to provide a high-quality cleaning and housekeeping service that maintains a clean, safe and hygienic healthcare environment for patients, visitors and staff. The post holder will contribute to infection prevention, patient wellbeing and excellent customer service by ensuring all allocated areas are cleaned in accordance with healthcare cleaning standards, local policies and health and safety legislation.

Cleaning Duties

  • Clean patient bedrooms, treatment rooms and clinical areas.
  • Cross cover duties in HK and OPD.
  • Clean bathrooms, toilets and shower facilities.
  • Maintain offices, waiting areas, corridors and public spaces.
  • Dust, damp wipe and disinfect high-touch surfaces.
  • Vacuum and mop floors using approved methods.
  • Empty waste bins and segregate waste correctly.
  • Replace consumables including soap, paper towels and toilet tissue.
  • Carry out deep cleaning duties when scheduled.
  • Follow colour coding procedures to prevent cross-contamination.

Infection Prevention

  • Follow Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) procedures.
  • Use approved cleaning products and disinfectants.
  • Clean isolation rooms following local protocols.
  • Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Report infection risks or spillages immediately.
  • Complete terminal cleans when required.

Waste Management

  • Segregate waste correctly.
  • Handle clinical, domestic and recycling waste safely.
  • Transport waste to designated holding areas.
  • Follow local waste management procedures.
  • Report damaged bins or waste storage issues.
