Job Summary

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN JOINING OUR HOUSEKEEPING BANK STAFF

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit new bank staff working days Monday-Friday 0600 - 1400, 1400-2200 or Saturday-Sunday 0600-1400 / 1400-2200 to join our busy Housekeeping Department and cover annual leave and sickness.

We are also looking for Hostess people with a catering background working 1000 - 1400 and 1600 - 2000

We are looking for individuals who are motivated and driven, who would enjoy working under pressure in a fast-paced Hospital environment.

If you have the relevant experience and knowledge of the cleaning industry and you are an effective communicator, then we would like to hear from you.


Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required

PLEASE READ FULL JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Work in a safe, courteous, and confidential manner whilst following Trust Policy and associated Standard Operating Procedures relating to the task being carried out.
  • Be in designated place of work from agreed shift start time to agreed shift end time.
  • To maintain a level of cleanliness and hygiene within your designated work area by following a planned schedule of work as well as making flexible alterations when required.
  • Using electrical equipment safely to vacuum clean all floor surfaces.
  • Dust control mopping of hard floors. Collect designated mop bag and damp mop all hard floors; maintaining a safe environment for others by following a safe method of work.
  • Cleaning of furniture, fittings, and equipment as outlined in the cleaning schedule.
  • Preparation of appropriate cleaning materials and solutions including the dilution of products to the correct working level.
  • Clean and maintaining to a high standard all sanitary areas, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Clean kitchens, appliances, and fittings in compliance with Food Hygiene Regulations.

Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND TASKS CONTINUED: Please note for a specific detailed job description for this vacancy, please see the attached job description.

  • Prepare and serve patient beverages, collect wash, and refill water jugs and wash drinking glasses.
  • Empty waste containers including clinical, household, glass, and bottle waste; disposing of these at appropriate collection points in line with the Trust's waste disposal procedure.
  • High dust fixtures and fittings out of normal reach using appropriate extendable equipment or by using access equipment such as step ladders.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good General Education to Secondary School (E)
  • Basic Level of literacy & numeracy (E)
  • Ability to read and write English (E)

Desirable

  • Food Safety Level 2 (D)

Experience

Essential

  • Able to work as a team member (E)
  • Dealing with the public and ability to work under pressure (E)

Desirable

  • Experience working in the cleaning industry (D)
  • Previous NHS experience working in a similar role (D)
  • Catering experience (D)
