Are you a qualified Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) looking for the flexibility of bank work while continuing to deliver exceptional patient care?
At Practice Plus Group Surgical Centre Gillingham, we're seeking experienced Bank ODPs to join our friendly and highly skilled theatre team. Working across Anaesthetics, Scrub and Recovery, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their perioperative journey, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, safety, and compassion are maintained at all times.
This role is offered on a bank (0-hour) contract. There are no guaranteed hours, and shifts will be offered depending on business needs. You can accept or decline shifts based on your availability, making this a flexible option—but it may not be suitable if you are seeking consistent or full-time hours.
What you'll be doing
As our Bank Operating Department Practitioner (ODP), you'll work as part of our multidisciplinary theatre team, supporting the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Delivering high-quality perioperative care to patients undergoing surgery
- Rotating across Anaesthetics, Scrub and Recovery areas
- Preparing theatres and anaesthetic rooms for daily operating lists
- Ensuring safe and effective patient transfers and handovers
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation
- Monitoring equipment, stock levels, and consumables
- Supporting infection prevention and control standards
- Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and wider healthcare teams to deliver excellent patient outcomes
What we'll look for in you
To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Have
- Current HCPC or NMC registration
- Degree in Operating Department Practice or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of two years' UK post-qualification experience across Anaesthetics, Scrub and Recovery/PACU
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Experience of maintaining accurate patient records
- The ability to work effectively under pressure within a busy theatre environment
- A flexible and positive approach to work
- A commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and maintaining high clinical standards
