An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team within iCaSH Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes team as a Bank Psychosexual Counsellor covering 3 months of hours, either in a block or one month at a time.

Location

Working across all sites at Bedford Kingsbrook, Grove View in Dunstable and Milton Keynes and remote working is also an option.

Role

You will be working within our multi-disciplinary team including clinical and outreach teams.

Responsibilities

• The post holder will work with the iCaSH Service Manager, iCaSH Psychosexual Counsellor colleagues and any other team members, to offer high-quality psychosexual support managing sexual dysfunction issues related to sexual health for Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes residents.
• The post holder will work with the iCaSH Service Manager to clarify referral routes for psychosexual therapy not offered by the integrated service.
• The post holder will accept referrals from GPs, Consultants, Registrars, Specialist Nurses and from other health professionals as appropriate.
• The post-holder will use skills of assessment and analysis in joint care planning with the client.
• The therapeutic contract will be short-term and focused on the presenting sexual difficulty in the context of physical, emotional and mental health history.
• Work as an effective team member, taking a shared approach to teamwork, recognising and valuing the roles of different people in the team and respond constructively to feedback from team members.
• Undertake the process of assessment, diagnosis and analysis of each referral received.
• Make use of and draw on the full range of assessment methods appropriate to the service, deciding the appropriate assessment methods for each case.
• Use evidence base, clinical experience and multiple data sources to inform clinical formulations and differential diagnoses.
• Undertake regular peer supervision related to case load.
