Bank Radiology Assistant | Spire Harpenden Hospital | Imaging Department | Bank

(Zero Hours Contract)

Spire Harpenden Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Radiology Assistant to join our Imaging Department on a bank basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to support our experienced Radiography team in delivering outstanding patient care within a modern and busy diagnostic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Radiology Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the Imaging Department and ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care throughout their diagnostic journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Radiographers and Specialist Radiographers with patient care during imaging procedures.
  • Assisting patients before, during and after examinations.
  • Contributing to the monitoring and support of patients undergoing diagnostic investigations.
  • Recognising and reporting any significant changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate clinical professional.
  • Assisting with the safe movement and transfer of patients in line with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients and colleagues.
  • Providing excellent customer service and reassurance to patients throughout their visit.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team and is committed to delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Essential

  • Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar patient-facing clinical role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A professional, flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Desirable

  • Experience working within an Imaging or Radiology Department.
  • Experience assisting with ultrasound examinations, including interventional procedures.
  • Experience supporting MRI services.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a related healthcare qualification.

Please note that while an NVQ Level 3 qualification and imaging experience would be advantageous, neither are essential as full training and support will be provided.

Working Hours

  • Bank (Zero-Hours Contract)
  • Ad hoc shifts to suit service requirements and your availability
  • Shift lengths are predominantly 7.5 hours
  • Department operating hours: Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 8:00pm
