Support Worker Awake Night – Adult Services

Are you passionate about helping autistic adults and those with learning disabilities achieve their full potential? Autism Anglia, a well-established independent charity, are looking for Bank Awake Night Support Workers to join our dedicated team in Adult Services across Colchester.

About The Role

As a Bank Awake Night Support Worker, you will:

  • Work in partnership with the team (alongside the sleep-in staff, where applicable) to provide person-centred, outcome-focused support.
  • Maintain the dignity, privacy, and wellbeing of each individual, assisting with personal care, health, and hygiene.
  • Assist with communication, sensory support, or psychological monitoring and interventions.
  • Prepare comprehensive handover reports including the night time section of daily records for the oncoming staff, which ensures that they are up to date with the needs of the people we support and any concerns which may have occurred during the shift.
  • To adhere to the service cleaning rota and assist in the laundry duties including ironing.
  • Follow Safeguarding procedures and act promptly on any concerns.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  • Have experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant (HCA), Carer with autism or learning disabilities.
  • Can identify and support the needs, wishes, and aspirations of individuals with communication needs.
  • Are experienced in providing intensive behavioural support.
  • Have strong communication skills and experience coordinating activities in the local area.
