Bank Children's Residential Support Worker
Contract: Bank / Zero Hours Contract
Location: Alvaston, Derbyshire
Salary: £14.31 - £15.18 per hour + sleep-in payments

Whether you're balancing family life, studies, another job, or simply don't want to commit to full-time hours, our Bank Children's Residential Support Worker opportunities offer the flexibility to work around your lifestyle while making a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people.
As a Bank Residential Support Worker, you'll provide additional support across our homes during periods of annual leave, sickness, training, emergency cover and increased staffing requirements. You'll play a vital role in helping us maintain safe, nurturing and stable environments for the young people in our care.
No two shifts are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of services while working alongside dedicated and experienced teams.
What will the role involve?
- Supporting children and young people within our residential homes.
- Building positive relationships and acting as a positive role model.
- Assisting with daily routines, activities, appointments and education.
- Supporting young people to develop independence and life skills.
- Providing emotional support and trauma-informed care.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning.
- Providing cover during staff absence, annual leave and emergencies.

We Understand That Not Everyone Can Commit To a Full-time Contract. Our Bank Opportunities Allow You To Work Shifts Around Your Availability, With Opportunities Including
- Long day shifts
- Sleep-in shifts (paid in addition to your hourly rate)
- Early shifts
- Late shifts
- Weekend working
- Bank holiday shifts
While flexibility is a key benefit of the role, we are looking for individuals who can offer regular availability and are willing to work across a variety of shift patterns when required.
What you'll bring
- Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals in a professional capacity.
- A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Resilience, emotional maturity and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent Health & Social Care qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
