Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced clinical specialist physiotherapist to clinically support the Respiratory Physiotherapy service.
We are a small team comprising of Physiotherapists, and a Therapy Assistant. We work closely with our Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Critical Care and Medical and Surgical colleagues to provide a seamless service across the respiratory pathway.
We promote education and service development and use our connections with Bournemouth University, AECC University College, Thames Valley and Wessex Critical Care Network and surrounding Trusts to ensure we are delivering the best care and service to our population.
Job Description
The post holder will be an experienced physiotherapist with a specialist interest in breathlessness and airway clearance. The post holder works alongside the team lead and supervises the day to day running of the team.
Responsibilities:
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties and to carry a significant caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner, including those with complex presentations.
- To work at an enhanced and advanced level and to be professionally and legally accountable for a highly specialised patient caseload and to decide priorities for own work area, balancing other patient related and professional demands.
- To coordinate a rolling programme of education, clinical evaluation, audit and research within the respiratory pathway at DCH.
- The option of actively participating on the respiratory weekend rota.
- To facilitate the implementation and evaluation of physiotherapy clinical outcomes within a designated pathway and monitor adherence with professional and national standards.
