Profile Summary

You will play a key role within the Banking COO function, supporting the delivery of the division's strategic, governance, business management and organisational objectives. The role combines business management, performance reporting, strategic planning, change management and governance responsibilities, helping to ensure the effective execution of Banking priorities across the franchise.

As part of the Banking COO Business Partner delivery model, the individual will act as the primary COO contact for designated Banking business areas (Infrastructure & Advisory and Augusta), working closely with senior business leaders to support business planning, organisational initiatives, performance oversight and the delivery of key strategic priorities. The role also contributes to broader Banking COO activities, including franchise-wide initiatives, executive reporting, management presentations and materials for senior management and governance forums.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Support the Banking COO function in the delivery of strategic, governance, business management and organisational priorities across the Banking franchise as required.
  • Act as the primary COO contact for designated Banking business areas, developing strong relationships with senior stakeholders and supporting the delivery of strategic and operational priorities.
  • Provide business management and strategic support to business leadership, including business planning, organisational initiatives, resource management and decision-making activities.
  • Coordinate engagement across COO teams and corporate functions, ensuring business requirements are effectively prioritised, managed and delivered.
  • Support the development and execution of business strategies, organisational priorities and key change initiatives, maintaining oversight of progress, risks and dependencies.
  • Maintain oversight of business performance, management information and executive reporting, providing analysis and insight to support management decision-making.
  • Support governance, risk and control activities, including the coordination of regulatory, audit, compliance and management committee requirements.
  • Contribute to broader Banking COO priorities, including franchise-wide strategic initiatives, organisational design, business planning, executive reporting and the preparation of materials for senior management, governance forums and Board-level discussions.

Qualifications, Skills And Experience

  • Experience within a COO, Business Management, Strategy, Change Management or related function within financial services.
  • Good understanding of corporate and investment banking businesses, products and operating models.
  • Experience supporting senior stakeholders and acting as a trusted partner to business teams.
  • Experience coordinating complex initiatives and working across multiple business and support functions to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Experience supporting business planning, governance, organisational initiatives and change programmes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and translate complex issues into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of high-quality presentations, management papers and executive-level communications.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Degree educated or equivalent professional experience.
