Banking & Finance Senior Associate
A leading international legal practice is looking to appoint an experienced Banking & Finance Senior Associate to join its Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance lawyer looking to work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on Asset Based Lending (ABL). You’ll work with a broad range of lenders and borrowers while also gaining exposure to leveraged finance, corporate finance, real estate finance and wider banking matters. The role offers genuine responsibility, international exposure and the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of a highly regarded finance practice.
Responsibilities
- Advise lenders and borrowers on complex asset-based lending transactions across a range of sectors.
- Work across a broader banking and finance caseload, including leveraged finance, corporate finance, real estate finance and general lending matters.
- Draft and negotiate key finance documentation, including credit agreements, security documents and intercreditor arrangements.
- Take a lead role on transactions, managing key documentation, liaising with clients and supervising junior lawyers.
- Support client development initiatives and contribute to the growth of the finance practice both regionally and internationally.

Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with approximately 4–7 years' PQE and strong experience in Banking & Finance.
- Previous experience of Asset Based Lending, with a genuine interest in developing further expertise in this area.
- Strong technical ability and confidence working with the documentation and structures commonly used in ABL transactions.
- Experience handling complex or multi-jurisdictional financing matters would be advantageous.
- Commercially minded, proactive and confident in dealing directly with clients and taking responsibility for transactions.
