Citi’s Banking Investment Banking Associates
Citi’s Banking is seeking Investment Banking Associates who plays a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive financial solutions to clients. This position is primarily responsible for actively assisting clients in capital raising activities within the financial markets and providing expert strategic advisory services for complex mergers, acquisitions, and various other financial transactions, working in close coordination with the Institutional Banking team. Furthermore, the Investment Banking Associate acts as a crucial intermediary in facilitating trading activities for clients. The overarching objective of this role is to serve as a trusted strategic advisor, meticulously formulating bespoke investment strategies and efficiently raising capital to meet clients' diverse financial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to and assist in the meticulous execution of Citi’s global Investment Banking business activities, ensuring operational excellence and strategic alignment.
- Proactively leverage extensive prior investment banking experience or related financial expertise to significantly enhance the firm's capabilities in M&A execution and sophisticated capital raising initiatives.
- Make substantial contributions to strengthening and expanding Citi’s franchise by driving business growth and upholding the firm's reputation for excellence.
- Effectively manage and mentor junior analysts, providing detailed and constructive guidance, actionable feedback, and ensuring seamless information flow. This includes appropriately providing recognition and exposure to analysts for their contributions.
- Exercise sound judgment to appropriately assess and mitigate risk in all business decisions, demonstrating an acute consideration for the firm's reputation and diligently safeguarding Citigroup, its esteemed clients, and valuable assets. This involves driving strict compliance with applicable laws, regulatory frameworks, and internal policies, applying robust ethical judgment in personal conduct and business practices, and transparently escalating, managing, and reporting any control issues.

Recommended Qualifications
- Possession of 5-8 years of directly relevant experience within investment banking or a closely related financial services domain.
- Demonstrable experience in the comprehensive evaluation of complex corporate transactions and intricate financial structures.
- Proven expertise in creating sophisticated and accurate financial analyses, including modelling, valuation, and forecasting.
- Exceptional problem-solving acumen and superior organizational skills, with a track record of managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Consistently demonstrates impeccably clear, concise, and persuasive written and verbal communication skills across all professional interactions.
- Practical experience in assisting with client development, including identifying opportunities, preparing pitches, and supporting relationship management.
- A strong ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and a proven capability to track and analyse business development opportunities, including collecting comprehensive research and analysing intricate industry trends.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
