Citi's Banking Division Summer Associate Interns
Citi's Banking division is actively seeking highly motivated Summer Associate Interns to join its distinguished Investment Banking team in London. This intensive 10-week program offers an unparalleled opportunity to engage with a broad spectrum of financial services, extending beyond traditional advisory roles to encompass comprehensive global solutions for clients worldwide. The Investment Banking team specializes in mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, financial restructurings, takeover defense, and the underwriting and distribution of equity, debt, and derivative securities.
The Summer Associate program commences in June 2027, beginning with a mandatory one-week "Introduction to Citi" and an in-depth training curriculum. This training is meticulously designed and delivered by some of Citi's most accomplished Investment Bankers, providing participants with a robust foundation in Citi's products, services, and corporate culture. It also serves as a crucial networking platform, fostering connections among peers from diverse global backgrounds. Following the initial training, associates will be strategically placed within an industry group – FIG, Industrials, NRCET, TMT: Comms or TMT: Tech for the subsequent nine weeks. These allocations are determined prior to the program's start, taking into account both individual interests and critical business requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
