The Role:

Our Banking & Finance team advises banks, alternative lenders, investors, public sector bodies and corporate borrowers on a broad range of financing transactions across the UK and internationally.

Recognised in Chambers, we combine high-quality work with a genuinely collaborative culture. As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious Associate (3-6 PQE) to join our London team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to accelerate their career within a supportive, entrepreneurial and nationally integrated practice, with access to high-calibre work and meaningful client exposure from day one.

Based in our London Bridge office, you will be part of our London Banking & Finance practice and our wider national team.

You will work closely with partners on a broad range of transactions including:

  • Real estate finance
  • Leveraged and acquisition finance
  • Corporate lending
  • Refinancing's and restructurings
  • Cross-border financing transactions

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Advise on financing transactions from inception to completion.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day transaction management and client delivery.
  • Work directly with clients and develop long-term relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple practice areas and sectors.
  • Supervise and support junior lawyers where appropriate.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and the continued growth of the practice.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a talented and commercially minded lawyer with strong technical capabilities and a genuine enthusiasm for banking and finance work. You will have experience advising on a range of banking and finance transactions and be comfortable managing matters with appropriate supervision. You will enjoy working closely with clients and colleagues, taking a pragmatic approach to problem solving and delivering commercially focused advice.

You will enjoy working collaboratively as part of a high-performing team and bring strong commercial awareness alongside sound judgement. They will have excellent organisational and project management skills, with a genuine interest in building lasting client relationships and developing their professional profile.

This opportunity would suit someone who is keen to take increasing responsibility for managing transactions, driving successful client outcomes, and playing a key role in the continued growth of the practice. They will also have the ambition to develop specialist expertise, broaden their experience, and progress their career within a supportive and expanding team.

This role offers significant scope to deepen your expertise, while also providing opportunities to become involved in one or more of our key industry sectors.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • 3-6 years' post-qualification experience as a solicitor qualified in England & Wales or Scotland.
  • Strong experience in banking and finance transactions gained in private practice or an equivalent in-house environment.
  • Excellent technical drafting and analytical skills.
  • The ability to provide clear, practical and commercially focused advice to clients.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to working with clients and colleagues.
