Job Description

Role can be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow

We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Banking Operations Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with banking operations experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for accuracy.

Working across a variety of banking platforms and systems, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and control of reconciliations, reporting, and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Controlling and maintaining bank ledgers.
  • Reviewing and processing client money payments accurately and in line with established controls.
  • Performing daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Completing prefund reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Producing accurate cash reporting and supporting liquidity management activities.
  • Managing and ensuring regular operational tasks are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring and maintaining robust systems and controls to minimise operational risk.
  • Investigating and resolving reconciliation breaks and exceptions.
  • Supporting audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Working collaboratively across Finance teams to improve processes and controls.
  • Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within Banking Operations, or a similar financial services environment.
  • Experience performing bank reconciliations and managing financial controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and data analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience across a range of banking platforms, payment systems, and financial applications.
  • Experience with client money processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and operational change.
