A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BANQUETING CHEF DE PARTIE AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing...

  • Take responsibility for the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes for our wide range of conferences, weddings, private events and banqueting functions.
  • Deliver consistently high-quality food, whether catering for an intimate celebration or one of our larger events.
  • Work closely with the wider Kitchen and Conference & Events teams to ensure every function is delivered smoothly, efficiently and to the highest standard.
  • Prepare and organise your section ahead of busy events, ensuring everything is ready for service and timings are met.
  • Support senior chefs with the delivery of event menus, contributing ideas and helping maintain consistency across every plate.
  • Confidently manage multiple priorities during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail, presentation and quality.
  • Support and guide junior members of the kitchen team, sharing your knowledge and helping to create a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety at all times, ensuring all relevant procedures are followed.
  • Assist with stock management, portion control and minimising food waste, helping the Kitchen operate efficiently and sustainably.
  • Be flexible in supporting other areas of the Kitchen when required, working together as one team to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

What We Need From You

  • Previous experience working as a Chef de Partie, or an experienced Demi Chef de Partie ready to take the next step.
  • Experience within banqueting, events, hotels or high-volume catering would be highly advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, presentation and kitchen organisation.
  • The confidence to take ownership of your section and deliver consistently high standards, even when working to tight event timings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a genuine pride in the food you produce.
  • A good understanding of food hygiene, allergens and health & safety requirements within a professional kitchen.
  • A positive, hands-on approach and the ability to remain calm and organised during busy services.
  • A team-focused attitude, with the confidence to support and guide more junior chefs.
  • Flexibility to work across a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, in line with our events calendar.
  • Most importantly, a passion for creating memorable experiences through great food and a desire to be part of a Kitchen team that makes things happen.
