Role Overview
As a Bar Host, you bring energy to the showroom from the moment customers walk in, creating an atmosphere that feels welcoming, exciting, and effortlessly different. You’re not just offering a drink; you’re setting the tone for an experience that takes the stress out of sofa shopping and makes every visit feel relaxed, social, and enjoyable.
From the bar, you create moments of connection, sparking interaction, building rapport, and adding a layer of hospitality that elevates the entire journey. You help turn the showroom into a destination, not just a store.
You live our values in every moment:
- Change the Game by rethinking what retail hospitality looks like,
- The Power of Us by working seamlessly with the team to keep the showroom flowing,
- Own It by taking pride in every detail of the experience, and
- Keep It Simple by making customers feel comfortable, cared for, and at ease.
Whether it’s a busy weekend or a quieter moment, you bring personality, energy, and intent — ensuring the space always feels alive, considered, and unmistakably Sofa Club.
Key Responsibilities
- Create an immediate impact by delivering a warm, confident welcome that sets the tone for a relaxed, style-led experience.
- Use the bar as a moment of connection, offering drinks, sparking conversation, and helping customers feel comfortable and at ease.
- Take the stress out of sofa shopping by creating a calm, enjoyable environment where customers can take their time and feel looked after.
- Keep the showroom flowing, confidently supporting customer movement and ensuring every guest feels seen and supported, even at peak times.
- Work closely with the team to keep the experience seamless, stepping in where needed to maintain energy and organisation on the floor.
- Bring personality and energy to the space, helping create an atmosphere that feels more like a social destination than a traditional store.
- Maintain exceptional showroom standards, ensuring every detail, from the bar area to the shop floor, feels clean, styled, and ready to impress.
- Take pride in the details, from refreshing displays to resetting spaces, ensuring the showroom always looks its best.
- Support in-store activations and events, helping create standout moments that build excitement, community, and brand connection.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
