Inspired by the vibrant late-night cultures of New York and London, complete with the undertones of Parisian chic, STEREO offers a masterfully curated mix of music, food, and drinks. STEREO features an extensive drinks menu, American inspired culinary bar classics, and an eclectic and dynamic music programme. The bar offering sees local products from Partizan Brewery and Thames Distillers (including a STEREO house vodka & gin). The music ties it all together, with a rotating series of resident DJs and curated one-off performances.
Job: Bar Manager
Location: Stereo, Covent Garden, London
Full time: 48hrs per week
Role: Lead our high-energy bar team to deliver exceptional experiences, drive revenue, and maintain a vibrant, top-tier atmosphere.
KEY OBJECTIVES:
- Elevate the Beverage Experience:
- Craft and execute innovative, seasonal cocktail menus, ensuring consistent, high-quality drinks.
- Maintain immaculate bar operations, prioritizing speed, efficiency, and a "no-pretension, all-pleasure" vibe.
- Maximize revenue through strategic menu design and proactive upselling.
- Lead a High-Performance Team:
- Recruit, train, and inspire a passionate bar team, fostering a positive and engaging work environment.
- Manage team schedules, performance, and development, ensuring optimal staffing and retention.
- Enforce all legal compliance (health & safety, labour laws) and establish clear opening/closing procedures.
- Operational Excellence:
- Oversee all inventory management (alcohol, supplies, glassware), ensuring accurate stock levels and cost control.
- Maintain a pristine and safe bar environment, adhering to all F&B regulations.
- Proactively manage maintenance and repairs, reporting issues to the GM.
- Achieve annual and quarterly financial targets in relation to EBITDA.
- Guest Experience & Brand Ambassador:
- Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving complaints and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Act as a brand ambassador, embodying our club's unique style and energy.
- Achieve member retention targets.
- Strategic Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Bar Production Coordinator on inventory and ordering.
- Participate in management meetings, contributing to strategic decisions.
- Achieve staff retention targets.
- Achieve excellent health and safety audit scores.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Menu creation and execution (seasonal updates).
- Inventory management and ordering.
- Team recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Customer service and complaint resolution.
- Bar maintenance and cleanliness.
- Financial reporting and analysis.
- Compliance with all legal and safety standards.
- Mystery shopper reporting and staff development.
- House Tonic program maintenance and training.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5+ years of experience in a high-volume, late-night bar environment.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Exceptional cocktail knowledge and creativity.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management and POS systems.
- Personal license holder.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skill.
- Ability to work and maximize relationships within a diverse team.
