Bar Manager
Sir Frank's Bar is a grade II listed, art deco jewel with its walls adorned with original artworks by the celebrated botanist Marianne North, and its windows framing sweeping views across the estate and beyond. This is no ordinary bar. Sir Frank's is the beating heart of Beaverbrook, a place where guests gather for every occasion, from celebratory cocktails to quiet evening nightcaps, and everything in between.
We are searching for a Bar Manager with genuine ambition, someone who sees Sir Frank's not simply as a bar within a hotel, but as a destination in its own right. Our goal is to take this bar to the next level, and we need the right person to lead that journey.
The ideal candidate is a natural host with real presence behind the bar, equally comfortable inspiring a team as they are creating a guest's favourite drink. You will bring creativity, commercial awareness, and a genuine passion for exceptional hospitality. Working closely with our marketing teams, you will help shape the story of Sir Frank's, driving awareness, footfall, and a reputation that extends well beyond the estate. Behind the scenes, you will be across the detail: stock control, P&L, LQA standards, and the immaculate standards that Beaverbrook is known for.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
