Event Details

Location: Wentworth Club, Virginia Water, Surrey, GU25 4LS

Pay: £17.00 per hour

Dates: 15–20 September 2026 (Full availability required)

Contract: Temporary Event-Based Role

Lead the Team at One of Europe's Most Prestigious Golf Tournaments

The BMW PGA Championship is the flagship event of the DP World Tour, attracting world-class golfers, premium hospitality guests, and thousands of spectators to the iconic Wentworth Club each year.

Freemans Event Partners is looking for experienced Bar Managers to lead busy hospitality bars and premium event spaces throughout this prestigious championship.

About The Role

As a Bar Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of your allocated bar, leading your team to deliver outstanding service throughout the championship.

Working closely with the wider event management team, you'll ensure smooth operations, maintain exceptional service standards, and create memorable experiences for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the operation of your allocated bar.
  • Brief, motivate, and support supervisors and front-line bar staff.
  • Deliver fast, efficient, and high-quality service during busy trading periods.
  • Manage stock levels, minimise wastage, and maintain accurate stock control.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing legislation, Challenge 25, and health & safety procedures.
  • Resolve customer queries and operational challenges professionally.
  • Work closely with event operations and senior management teams.
  • Deliver engaging team briefings and maintain high staff morale.
  • Ensure all cash handling and reporting procedures are completed accurately.
  • Maintain exceptional presentation and premium hospitality standards throughout the event.

About You

We're looking for confident, organised leaders who enjoy the excitement of live sporting events and know how to get the very best from their teams.

Essential

  • Hold a valid Personal Licence.
  • Previous experience managing bars at major sporting events, festivals, stadiums, golf tournaments, or other high-volume hospitality venues.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
  • Good knowledge of licensing legislation and health & safety requirements.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Desirable

  • Experience working within premium hospitality environments.
  • Experience using EPOS systems and managing stock.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Previous experience managing VIP or hospitality bar operations.
