Bar Manager/ Drinks Operations Manager - Pelham House Wedding Venue - Lewes
Join Our Exceptional Events Team up to £33k.
We are not just looking for a bar manager, we are looking for a Drinks Operations Manager who is a creative, passionate, and experienced professional to lead our bar team, elevate our drinks program, and ensure that every guest leaves raving about us. As the heartbeat of our bar operations, you’ll oversee every detail, from crafting signature cocktails to shaping the guest experience, all while fostering a culture of excellence and fun.
Pelham House is a premier events venue, operated by Artemis Venue Services. The in-house team are renown for delivering exceptional food, drinks, and service that make our weddings and events unforgettable. Operating across 15 prestigious venues across the UK, Artemis seek to employ the best talent in the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Recruit, train, and inspire a passionate bar team. Lead by example to foster a culture of professionalism, creativity, and energy.
- Drinks Leadership: Curate and develop the drinks menu from signature cocktails to seasonal specials blending central stock suppliers and local provenance.
- Service Excellence: Ensure every guest receives exceptional service, blending efficiency with personality to create a memorable experience.
- Manage Stock: Oversee ordering, stock control, and cost management to achieve profitability without compromising quality.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant bar environment, including the adherence to alcohol licensing laws.
- Financial Management: Manage till operations and record bar takings.
- Event Coordination: Collaborate with the events team to ensure seamless service during weddings and other events.
- Venue Support: Support your fellow bar managers at some of our other premier venues when required.
- Marketing Contribution: Partner with the marketing department to promote the bar, its signature offerings, and special events.
- Sale of Alcohol: Ensure a thorough understanding of the legalities of selling alcohol and licensing rules.

What We’re Looking For:
- Creativity and Passion: A passion for creativity and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Proven Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a bar management role, ideally within a hospitality or event setting.
- Strong Leadership Skills: An ability to lead by example, motivate a team, and lead with positivity.
- Tech-savvy: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Organized & Efficient: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and pay attention to detail.
- Financially Savvy: Experience in managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving sales.
- Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and bar equipment.
- Flexible & Adaptable: Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed, especially during peak wedding seasons. To support our other venues when required.
- Personal Licence: Required for overseeing alcohol service.
- Willingness to become the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) if required.
- Own transport is essential due to the venue’s location.
- Eligible to work full-time in the UK.
