Role Description

The Bar Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Edinburgh. The Bar Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the bar, including supervising staff, managing customer service, and ensuring a consistently high standard of service and beverage presentation.

  • Scheduling and training team members
  • Monitoring inventory and ordering supplies
  • Supporting sales initiatives to meet revenue targets
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant environment
  • Handling guest enquiries and feedback
  • Working closely with ownership to improve service quality and guest experience

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
  • Experience in beverage operations, including knowledge of bar service standards and product quality.
  • Ability to train, support, and motivate staff to deliver consistent service and follow operational procedures.
  • Sales awareness with experience in upselling products, and supporting revenue goals.
  • Previous experience in bar or restaurant management, including staff supervision and shift leadership.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and reliability during busy periods.
  • Working knowledge of health, safety, and licensing regulations relevant to bar operations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
