Bar Staff

An iconic music pub situated in the heart of Putney, The Half Moon has been providing the backing track of London’s music scene for 60 years!

From Nick Cave to Ed Sheeran, U2 to Jack Parrot, and Rolling Stones to Kate Bush, The Who’s Who of performers and attendees makes us one of the most famous pubs in London.

With a beautiful sun-trapped garden, a stylish & contemporary casual interior, and gigs every night, if you’re looking for a role in hospitality then we’re the pub for you.

But the real icons of The Half Moon, are the team themselves. Whether you’re an upcoming superstar, an experienced campaigner or just looking for your next big break, then we’ve got the role for you to rock to!

For over 60 years, the Half Moon has been at the forefront of London’s grassroots music scene, some rumours even say much longer! From hosting Kate Bush's first ever sold out show, to the gig with which Lola Young was signed, from Ed Sheeran's support slot to the recurring home of the Rolling Stones from the 70's all the way to modern day, from U2's first ever London show to Cat Burns debut on our stage and many, many more in between. All their names are etched into the walls, floors and brickwork of the building, but so too are all of those that hosted, served, cooked and looked after them and the millions of gig goers as well.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

As we complete the biggest refurb the venue has ever seen, and one of the biggest for any grassroots venue in the UK this year, we will shortly be reopening our doors and we are looking for a couple of superstars of our own. As our socials show, our reviews describe and the team themselves will tell you, working at the Half Moon is unlike most hospitality jobs. Never one to throw around the term 'bar family' or blow our trumpets (we leave that to the acts themselves), we are a tight-knit, caring community that looks after each other - as a GM, in my 20+ years in management, it is genuinely one of the best teams I've ever had the pleasure to be a part of.

We care less about experience, and more about personality - we can teach how to pour a pint, but we can't teach you how to be a rockstar; like any decent ballad will tell you, that comes from within! And don't worry if it's your first foray into bar work; our team will help you, train you and (most importantly) support you, every step of the way! Of our 35+'moonies', over 80% have been with us for over 2 years but even those that are the newest feel like they've been with us since we started this latest journey!
