PITCH is a dynamic, high‑energy sports bar operated by the Pneuma Group, dedicated to delivering memorable customer experiences and strong brand presence. We are recruiting Bar Support Staff to join the team at PITCH Middlesbrough. This is a customer‑facing role where you will assist the bar and floor teams to ensure smooth service during busy trading periods, support promotional activity and help maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and product presentation.
The Opportunity
PITCH Middlesbrough is looking for reliable, friendly and energetic Bar Support Staff to work across shifts, including evenings, weekends and live‑sport events. You will play a key role in delivering excellent guest experiences by supporting bar operations, maintaining service flow and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. This role is ideal for someone seeking hands‑on hospitality experience, opportunities for progression and to be part of a values‑led team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support bar service — assist bartenders with glassware, bottle handling, garnishes and simple drink preparation where permitted; help maintain an efficient service flow during peak periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation — clear and clean tables, bars and service areas, polish glassware, restock bar fridges and keep back‑of‑house and front‑of‑house areas tidy.
- Customer care — greet guests when appropriate, assist with basic enquiries, support order fulfilment and ensure guests receive timely, friendly service.
- Stock and deliveries — help with stock rotation, assist in receiving deliveries, check items for accuracy and store them securely under supervision.
- Compliance and safety — follow age‑check procedures, food safety and health & safety guidelines; report any hazards or incidents to the management team.
- Assist with events and promotions — support set‑up and breakdown for live‑sport screenings and promotional activity, helping ensure consistent brand presentation.
- Cash and till support — assist with basic till tasks and float handling when trained and authorised; ensure accurate handing over to the bar team.
- Team collaboration — work closely with bartenders, floor staff and managers to deliver efficient service, share information and contribute to a positive work environment.

Person Specification
- Customer‑focussed — enjoys working with people, providing helpful and friendly service under pressure.
- Hardworking and reliable — punctual, organised and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Team player — supportive, adaptable and comfortable working in a busy, fast‑paced environment.
- Basic hospitality experience desirable — previous work in bars, restaurants or events is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Awareness of safety and licensing — understands the importance of age verification and safe service; willingness to learn compliance procedures.
- Positive attitude — energetic, well‑presented and committed to delivering great guest experiences in line with Pneuma Group values.
