Inspired by the vibrant late-night cultures of New York and London, complete with the undertones of Parisian chic, STEREO offers a masterfully curated mix of music, food, and drinks. STEREO features an extensive drinks menu, American inspired culinary bar classics, and an eclectic and dynamic music programme. The bar offering sees local products from Partizan Brewery and Thames Distillers (including a STEREO house vodka & gin). The music ties it all together, with a rotating series of resident DJs and curated one-off performances.

Job: Barback

Based in: Covent Garden, London

A barback is critical to the successful activity of the venue: fast, problem-solving, and organised, the barback works hard to deliver the best bar set-up and continues to provide incredible support during service hours.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bar Preparation and Stocking

  • Assist with the set-up of bar stations alongside bartenders, including fruits, herbs, garnishes, spirits, syrups, glassware, and bar tools.
  • Ensure all bar stations remain fully stocked during service.
  • Prepare fresh juices, fruits, and garnishes and deliver them to bartenders as required.

Bar Organisation and Equipment Care

  • Keep the back bar area clean, organised, and tidy at all times.
  • Maintain and clean bar equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Keep the bar storage areas well organised and properly stocked.
  • Regularly clean the ice machine and maintain hygiene standards.
  • Empty and clean the juice machine during service and thoroughly clean it at the end of service.
  • Ensure a consistent supply of clean and polished glassware is available for bartenders throughout service.

Cleanliness and Health & Safety

  • Maintain cleanliness across the entire bar area during service.
  • Follow all health, safety, and quality regulations.

Opening and Closing Duties

  • Assist with the opening and closing of the bar following the established procedures.
  • Support the team with tasks such as setting up the bar before service and clearing rubbish at the end of the shift.
  • Contribute to maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout the entire service.
