About The Role

Berkeley Scott seeks a Barista for a temporary contract in Glasgow. The successful applicant will craft hot and cold drinks, including espresso-based coffees, teas, and specialty beverages, while delivering prompt, courteous service. Duties cover taking orders, operating grinders, tills, and coffee machinery, handling cash and card payments, and upholding hygiene and food safety standards. Restocking ingredients and keeping the café tidy also form part of the post. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a genuine enthusiasm for coffee are essential. Previous experience in a similar customer-facing position is advantageous. The salary is competitive, and hours may include weekends and early starts.

Barista

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide consistently high-quality service in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based coffees, teas, and specialty drinks.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate coffee machines, grinders, tills, and other café equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety throughout the café.
  • Handle cash and card payments accurately.
  • Restock ingredients, supplies, and display items as required.
  • Prepare and serve food items while following company standards and food safety procedures.
  • Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining the quality of drinks and customer service.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and preparation of the café.
  • Work positively as part of a team and support colleagues when needed.

  • Previous barista or customer service experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, approachable, and reliable attitude.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and early mornings where required.
