Location: The Barnett Hotel, Warehouse District, New Orleans

One of New Orleans’ most distinctive 234-room hotels, The Barnett features:

About the Role

All Good Cafe New Orleans at The Barnett Hotel is seeking a Barista with open availability to join our team. As a Barista, you’ll prepare exceptional coffee and beverages while fostering a warm, efficient, and gracious cafe experience. This role requires precision, consistency, and a dedication to hospitality—ensuring guests leave with not just a cup of coffee in their hand, but a positive, memorable visit.


Minimum Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, but not mandatory)

Experience

  • Café, barista, or food service experience preferred (previous in hospitality/general customer service is a huge plus)

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficiency in coffee preparation, espresso machines, and beverage recipe execution
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a high-energy environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to consistency, cleanliness, and quality
  • Physical ability to:
    • Lift up to 30 lbs.
    • Stand for prolonged periods
  • Basic math and cash-handling skills
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation, food safety, and handling standards

Key Responsibilities

Guest & Service Excellence

  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and other beverages with care and efficiency
  • Take and process guest orders accurately—hand cash and POS transactions skillfully
  • Engage warmly with every guest, anticipating needs, answering questions, and offering personalized recommendations

Operations & Maintenance

  • Maintain café organisation, cleanliness, and all coffee/barista workstations and equipment
  • Rotate stock of ingredients, cups, utensils, pastries, and specialty merchandise
  • Follow established recipe guidelines and portion controls to uphold product consistency
  • Monitor inventory and communicate with management regarding supplies and restocking needs

Logistics & Support

  • Assist with opening and closing procedures
  • Adhere rigorously to all sanitation, safety, and company standards
  • Execute additional support tasks as delegated by management
