Salary: £5,828 per annum, (based on full time equivalent of £24,000 per annum) + enhanced company benefits

About our role
We have created an exciting new opportunity for a Barista & Deli Assistant to join us at our stunning Steepleton, Tetbury development.
In this hands-on role, you will run the daily service of our Deli, baking fresh goods, preparing hot and cold food, and serving up high-quality drinks as our resident barista. You'll multitask smoothly between taking food orders, processing payments, and building warm, personable relationships with our residents.
Beyond daily customer service, you will take ownership of our open and close procedures, ensuring the site is pristine, secure, and fully stocked. You'll also oversee essential Food Standards Agency compliance keeping detailed hygiene records, ensuring accurate allergen labelling, and managing inventory efficiently.
This position offers a great mix of independence and community engagement within a lively social hub.
Your responsibilities will include
- Executing full opening and closing procedures safely and securely.
- Baking fresh pastries and preparing a variety of food and barista-style drinks.
- Operating the EPOS till system and processing payments accurately.
- Managing inventory efficiently, including monthly stocktakes, waste tracking, and sourcing fresh local ingredients within an agreed weekly budget.
- Maintaining complete FSA compliance, including daily hygiene paperwork, temperature logs, and accurate allergen labelling.
- Executing daily cleaning schedules to keep the venue spotlessly clean.
- Acting as a friendly, reliable face who builds genuine rapport with our community.

Important information
This is a part-time position offered on a job-share basis (8.5 hours per week)
Thursdays: 10:00 - 14:00
Fridays: 10:00 - 14:30
Occasional flexibility regarding working hours or locations may be required to support special events, staff training, annual leave coverage, or operational needs.
About you
You are a reliable, welcoming, and self-motivated individual who thrives when working independently. You take pride in creating a clean, well-stocked environment and enjoy taking the time to connect with residents.
Your skills & experience
- Valid Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certificate and a basic understanding of COSHH (or a willingness to complete training).
- Experience in customer service or a food-led environment, with a patient, friendly, and engaging approach.
- Comfortable using (or learning) EPOS till systems and maintaining accurate daily records.
- A proactive self-starter who manages time well and takes initiative while working solo.
- Access to reliable transport to purchase local stock, if required.
- A warm, 'can-do' attitude and a genuine enjoyment of working with older adults.
