Bars Manager
We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented and motivated Bars Manager to join the team at Mark’s Club, part of The Birley Clubs.
Mark’s Club is a private members’ club, located in a refined Mayfair townhouse on Charles Street, with classic mahogany décor and a garden-like terrace space. The Club serves the finest meals delivered with theatrical flair and traditional tableside presentation. Our expert sommeliers guide Members through an extensive wine list, featuring over 60 wines by the glass and a selection of aged clarets.
As our Bars Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of service across the Club’s bar operations. You will lead, inspire and develop the team, ensuring consistently high standards of drinks, service and Member experience, whilst supporting the commercial performance of the department.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the highest levels of service are consistently provided
- Building team knowledge across spirits, cocktails, wine and food
- Ensuring all necessary actions are taken to achieve short- and medium-term goals and objectives
- Leading effective and engaging briefings before service
- Building Member loyalty and ensuring the team develop their knowledge of Members to provide individual and engaging service
- Developing drinks lists, promotions and events that support the department and enhance the Member experience
- Working closely with the Group Director of Bars to achieve weekly revenue and profit targets
- Managing rotas effectively, taking into consideration weekly forecasts and budget projections
- Identifying business opportunities that support revenue growth and working closely with the Group Director of Bars to implement these
- Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, including health & safety and food safety
- Leading, inspiring and motivating the Bars team to achieve stability, increased productivity and employee engagement
- Ensuring the team are supported through appropriate coaching, training and development
- Upholding and maintaining all standards in line with departmental operating procedures

We Are Ideally Looking For Candidates Who
- Have previous management experience within a high-profile destination bar, luxury restaurant, hotel or private members’ club
- Have a strong knowledge and passion for cocktails, spirits and wine, with the ability to advise and recommend to our Members
- Are commercially aware, with an understanding of revenue, profitability and cost control
- Have proven experience leading, developing and motivating a team
- Are passionate about delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for Members
- Are confident building strong relationships with Members and colleagues at all levels
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills
- Are proactive, hands-on and able to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment
- Are excellent team players with a genuine passion for hospitality
