Join the team at Engel, an exceptional bar & events space situated on the Mezzanine of the iconic Royal Exchange in the heart of the City of London.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and personable Bartender to join our Front of House team. Start date: September 2026.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for hospitality, strong knowledge of cocktails and spirits, and a natural ability to connect with guests. You will play an important role in creating a memorable experience by delivering friendly, professional and consistently high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wines and other beverages to consistently high standards.
  • Provide warm, professional and friendly service to all guests.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of our drinks menu, ingredients and products.
  • Make recommendations and confidently guide guests through our drinks offering.
  • Work closely with the wider Front of House team to ensure a smooth and memorable guest experience.
  • Support the delivery of private events and functions within Engel.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and fully stocked bar throughout service.
  • Assist with stock management, deliveries and replenishment.
  • Follow all health & safety, licensing and hygiene requirements.
  • Deliver consistently high standards of hospitality and guest service.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Bartender or in a similar role within a quality bar, restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits and bar operations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Warm, confident and professional personality.
  • Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy Front of House team.
  • A natural hospitality professional who enjoys interacting with guests.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent service standards.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK.

The Role

  • £16.27 per hour.
  • 40-hour contract.
  • Monday to Saturday operation – we are closed on Sundays.
