Job Description

The Peninsula London is pleased to announce we are seeking a Bartender to join the Brooklands Bar team, reporting to the Head Mixologist and Bar Manager. This is a critical position in creating an efficient yet memorable guest experience through service and a unique beverage offering.

The venue, designed by London architects Archer Humphryes, comprises a sleek main dining room with a sweeping outdoor terrace with enchanting panoramic views across London’s skyline taking in iconic landmarks like St Pauls and the City, the London Eye, and Battersea as well as over three Royal Parks (Hyde Park, Green Park, and St James’ Park).

Key Accountabilities

  • Always ensure the delivery of exceptional guest service, providing friendly, yet discreet and unobtrusive service in greeting, seating, and waiting on all guests.
  • Establish and maintain positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
  • Conduct regular training to employees on preparation, service, and menu pairing related to the beverage menu.
  • Exceed guest expectations with service, in keeping with the Peninsula Service Principles, focusing on the core principles, looking for improvement for better service standards with a general theme of anticipating the guests' needs.
  • Observe and maintain the daily condition of all physical facilities and equipment in the fine dining bar, public area and make recommendations for corrections and improvement as needed.
  • Ensure that consistency and correct service techniques for all meal periods is followed by all staff members when preparing or serving a cocktail.

General Requirements

  • Good knowledge of cocktail preparation of both classics and innovative alternatives with previous experience within a cocktail bar at a luxury level.
  • Passion for service and quality beverage menu offerings, with an appetite to exceed expectations and be creative.
  • A second language would be advantageous although not essential however excellent communication skills are required.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, highly adaptable, naturally positive.
  • Flexibility, and capability of working under pressure.
