Our Hotel

The Balmoral is located at Edinburgh’s most prestigious address, No. 1 Princes Street, where the Old Town stops and the New Town begins. Our hotel’s majestic clock defines the city’s skyline and since the day we opened in 1902, it has run three minutes fast to ensure our guests will never miss their train.

Your Key Responsibilities

Rocco Forte Hotels is a collection of iconic hotels that respects the individuality of location and its team members, encouraging them to be their natural selves while providing a local, authentic experience to our guests.

As a valued part of the Forte family, you will:

  • Cooperate well with colleagues in own team and across departments
  • Tailor your approach and anticipate needs so that high quality results are achieved
  • Deliver discreet, understated and timely service, going that extra mile
  • Consistently match and surpass guest expectations to ensure guest loyalty
  • Have a thorough knowledge of cocktails, wines & spirits
  • Assist guests regarding menu choices in an informative and enthusiastic way
  • Have previous experience in a luxury service environment or in a hotel bar is preferred

Who are we looking for

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who are passionate about celebrating the individuality of our hotels and guests. We are looking for team members who bring:

  • High personal and professional standards
  • Good instincts for understanding and fulfilling the needs of guests
  • Good communication skills with colleagues and guests
  • Thorough knowledge of market-leading wines, spirits, and beers
  • Cocktail-making experience in a quality hospitality environment
  • Confidence and pride in resolving guest and workplace issues
  • Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth
  • Flexibility, reliability, and adaptability

We have two part-time roles, 32 and 24 hours per week.

The successful candidate will be able to work a flexible rota, including weekend shifts, to support our business needs.

The expected salary package of a part time (32 hrs) Bartender is £27,632 gross per annum (salary plus discretionary service charge)
