Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To support change delivery managers in the delivery of successful projects, while ensuring that project management processes and practices are aligned with controls and governance standards and that projects are aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives.

Accountabilities

  • Support to change delivery managers, ensuring their programme is compliant with the Barclays Control Framework, including oversight of controls and governance standards.
  • Creation and implementation of standardised PMO processes and methodologies that are aligned with controls and governance standards and that support the delivery of successful projects.
  • Monitoring of project performance, including tracking of project progress, identification of risks assumptions, issues and dependencies, and creation of report on project status to senior management.
  • Support of project documentation, including maintenance of project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensuring that project documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Facilitation of project governance, including ensuring that projects are aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives, and that project risks assumptions, issues and dependencies are managed effectively.
  • Provision of change management framework training to project managers and other stakeholders, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver successful projects.
  • Continuous improvement of project management practices, including identification of areas for improvement and implementation of changes to improve project delivery.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.

Join our Basel IV Programme Management Office (PMO) and play a pivotal role in delivering one of the organisation’s most significant regulatory change programmes. Supporting Change Delivery Managers, you will help drive successful project execution, ensure robust governance and controls, and enable strategic business objectives through effective project management and stakeholder coordination as we approach a critical point in the delivery.

To be successful as a key member of the Basel IV PMO Team, you should have experience that evidences:

  • An instinctive and deep understanding of Governance and how it can strengthen the overall delivery of the programme and its aims.
  • Successful Stakeholder Management is critical with the candidate needing to have the confidence and authority to communicate requirements succinctly.
  • Capable of using the best tool available to readily support / compose the clear reporting and communication of status to regular forums and ad hoc requirements.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • The skills to bring together financial analysis, management and reporting across the programme. An ability to drive internal planning within workstreams alongside Change Delivery Managers to ensure a coherent plan that delivers the outcomes and brings together all impacted elements of governance to ensure a robust delivery.
  • Understand the construct and monitoring of strong KPIs that support the tracking and lead reporting of programme delivery status and governance reporting.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is based out of our Glasgow office.
