Basic Skills Training Tutor

We are currently seeking 4 individuals to join our team as a Basic Skills Training Tutor. Full and Part-time hours available.

Adult Learning in the Community

Adult Learning in the Community deliver a range of learning activities for post 16-year-olds in Neath Port Talbot. Our main aim is to support and help those in greatest need and focuses on the needs of the communities. We provide a curriculum that is in line with Welsh Government priorities; Essential Skills – literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, Employability Skills and Engagement activities – to support Health and Wellbeing

As a Basic Skills Training Tutor, you will;

  • Develop and provide effective delivery of the Basic Skills delivery programme.
  • Deliver Basic Skills courses to give opportunity and support learners with life skills and into employment/further education.
  • Ensure that learners undertaking training are given appropriate support and guidance in order to achieve their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with the core team to ensure assessments with learners are completed to identify their needs in relation to participation, progression and further education and/or employment opportunities
  • Provide necessary documents for management including lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments and accreditation are completed in the required timeframe.
  • Undertake teaching sessions with learners in line with the programme.
  • To promote continuous development and improvement of the programme

About you, do you have experience in/of;

  • Experience in the delivery of post 16 provision
  • Experience of working with post 16 learners
  • Be in possession of relevant subject area experience/qualification.
  • A minimum level 3 teaching qualification in accordance with sector standards
