I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You’ll receive product and design training, so bathroom industry experience isn’t essential for the right person.
Experience in bathrooms, kitchens, interiors, design, premium retail, property or consultative sales would certainly be an advantage.

Where we’re going
This is an exciting time to join Towns.
Towns Bathrooms was named Tonbridge Business of the Year 2026, and we’re excited to build on that success.
We’re preparing to move into significantly larger premises, where we’re creating a new destination for Bathrooms & Wellness alongside our established plumbing and heating merchant.
Our ambition is to grow the overall business from around £1.7 million in turnover to more than £4 million over the next three years, develop our wellness offering and ultimately open further boutique bathroom showrooms.
We’re investing in our premises, our systems, the way we work and, most importantly, our people.
As the business grows, there will be genuine opportunities for the right person to develop with us and play a meaningful role in what we build next.
Working pattern
Full time – Sunday to Thursday
This role has deliberately been created around a Sunday-to-Thursday working week as we develop the next generation of our showroom and extend the times we’re available to customers.
Friday and Saturday off.
Salary and bonus/commission package will depend on experience.
Interested?
You don’t need to know everything about bathrooms on day one. We’re much more interested in finding someone with the right personality, attitude and potential and teaching them the rest.
You do need to enjoy working with customers and feel comfortable selling. For us, successful selling means listening properly, recommending the right solution, following up consistently and confidently asking for the customer’s order.
If you’re creative, commercially minded, enjoy working with people and would love to help us build one of Kent’s most exciting bathroom and wellness destinations, we’d love to hear from you.
