BBQ Commis or Demi Chef de Partie – Duck | Shanghai Me

We’re looking for a passionate and motivated BBQ Commis or Demi Chef de Partie specialising in Duck to join the kitchen at Shanghai Me, a luxury Asian restaurant delivering bold flavours, exceptional produce, and high-energy dining.

You’ll work alongside an experienced kitchen brigade, developing your skills in traditional Asian BBQ techniques while contributing to a fast-paced, high-standard environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with the preparation and cooking of Chinese BBQ duck and other BBQ dishes
  • Support the BBQ Chef de Partie with preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Maintain consistent quality, flavour, and presentation throughout service
  • Keep your section clean, organised, and fully prepared for service
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
  • Support the wider kitchen team with prep, stock rotation, and daily routines

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a busy Asian or Chinese kitchen (minimum 1–2 years preferred)
  • Previous experience with Chinese BBQ or duck preparation is highly desirable
  • Passion for Asian cuisine and a genuine desire to develop your skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a fast-paced kitchen brigade
  • Eligible to work in the UK
