BD Data Analyst

Department: Central Team

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Taunton

Reporting To: Emma Lang

Description

At Porter Dodson, we're investing in a new and exciting capability within our Marketing & Business Development team and have an opportunity for a business development data analyst to work on a hybrid basis in either our Taunton, Yeovil or Exeter office on a full time, permanent basis.

We're looking for a curious, analytical and commercially minded individual who loves working with data, uncovering insights and helping shape business decisions. • Collect and analyse client, market and sector data.
  • Identify trends, opportunities and competitor activity.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and Microsoft tools.
  • Conduct market research and targeted prospect analysis.
  • Support strategic business development initiatives through data-led insights.
  • Monitor tender and bid opportunities.
  • Provide meaningful intelligence to support decision-making across the firm.
  • Help identify new ways to use technology, data and AI to improve business development activity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
