Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Business Development Manager (BDM) at Paymentsave. The BDM is responsible for identifying and qualifying new SME merchant opportunities, building and managing a pipeline, and converting prospects into long-term customers. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Conducting outreach via calls, emails, and online meetings
  • Presenting Paymentsave’s card acquiring solutions
  • Tailoring proposals to client needs
  • Negotiating commercial terms
  • Coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding
  • Maintaining relationships to drive retention and upsell opportunities

The BDM will:

  • Track performance against sales targets
  • Report on market trends and competitor activity
  • Contribute feedback to refine go-to-market strategies

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within payments, fintech, or financial services.
  • Strong skills in lead generation, prospecting, and pipeline management using CRM tools.
  • Ability to conduct needs analysis and present tailored solutions to SME clients in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Solid negotiation and closing skills, with experience working to and achieving revenue or volume targets.
  • Comfort working remotely, with strong self-organization, time-management, and follow-up discipline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Understanding of card acquiring, payment gateways, or merchant services is highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools (e.g., email, video conferencing, spreadsheets, presentations).
  • Ability to analyze basic sales and performance data to inform decisions and improvements.
  • Relevant education or training in business, sales, marketing, or a related field is an advantage.
