At Rural Recycling Ltd, our Total Waste Management service is designed to handle every aspect of your site's waste needs in one joined-up package — from dry waste and recycling to skip hire and hazardous waste management. We know that dealing with multiple waste streams can be complex and time-consuming. That is why our team takes charge from end to end, making sure every part of your waste management is handled efficiently and compliantly.
Whether you need recyclables segregated, regular collections kept running on time, or hazardous materials disposed of safely, we provide a seamless, one-stop solution. Our goal is straightforward: simplify your operations, reduce your environmental impact, and make your waste management as efficient and hassle-free as possible.
Role Description
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a full-time, remote role responsible for driving growth and expanding RURAL RECYCLING’s presence in target markets. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients and partners
- Developing proposals and presentations tailored to customer needs

The BDM will conduct market research, analyze trends in recycling and waste management, and collaborate with internal teams to shape service offerings and pricing strategies. This role involves:
- Managing a sales pipeline
- Meeting revenue and activity targets
- Maintaining accurate records in CRM and reporting tools
The BDM will also represent RURAL RECYCLING in virtual meetings and industry events, ensuring strong brand positioning and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within environmental services, recycling, logistics, or related industries.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse customer groups.
- Ability to conduct market and competitive research, interpret data, and translate insights into practical business strategies and action plans.
- Comfort working remotely with strong time management, self-motivation, and organizational skills to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, including creating clear proposals, presentations, and reports for internal and external audiences.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentation tools); experience with sales reporting is an advantage.
- Interest in sustainability, recycling, or environmental stewardship and willingness to learn technical aspects of recycling services.
