Role Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for identifying, targeting, and winning new business opportunities within the London Area and across the UK freight and logistics market. This full-time hybrid role combines on-site work in the London Area, United Kingdom, with some work-from-home flexibility.

  • Prospecting and qualifying leads
  • Conducting client meetings and calls
  • Preparing proposals and quotations
  • Negotiating commercial terms to close deals

The BDM will build and maintain long-term client relationships, collaborate with operations to ensure service quality, and gather feedback to refine solutions. The role also involves:

  • Tracking sales performance
  • Reporting on pipeline and revenue
  • Contributing to the development of sales strategies and marketing initiatives that support company growth

Qualifications

  • Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and contract negotiation.
  • Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain services, with the ability to understand and explain transport solutions (air, sea, and road).
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Analytical skills for assessing client needs, pricing structures, and market trends, supported by proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet or exceed revenue and activity targets in a hybrid work environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with operations and customer service teams to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.
  • Prior experience in B2B sales within the UK market; background in urgent, same-day, or international freight is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant education in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience in a similar role.
