Business Development & Account Manager

We are supporting an established and growing UK maritime services business with the appointment of a Business Development & Account Manager to take ownership of a strategically important territory covering North East England, Yorkshire, the Humber and Wales.

My client has a strong reputation within its specialist market, an established customer base and significant investment behind the business. Our client is focused on expanding its market presence, strengthening strategic customer relationships and building the next stage of its commercial success.

Description

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing new business through proactive prospecting, vessel visits and customer engagement.
  • Managing, retaining and growing an existing portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders including ship managers, ship owners, ship agents, Masters and senior vessel personnel.
  • Identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Generating, qualifying and following up sales leads.
  • Maintaining accurate customer and activity records within CRM.
  • Representing the business at regional maritime events and networking opportunities.
  • Working closely with internal sales and operational teams to ensure an excellent customer experience.
  • Managing your own diary, pipeline and territory to achieve ambitious commercial targets.

Profile

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven business development or account management professional who enjoys being customer-facing and developing new relationships.

You will ideally have:

  • A successful track record in business development, account management or B2B sales.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and winning new business.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to work towards targets.
  • The self-motivation and organisation required to manage a large geographical territory independently.
