I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your Talents
- You live in Bicester and you’ve worked as a Beauty Counter Manager or in a similarly senior luxury retail role, and you know what good looks like on a shop floor.
- You manage people naturally, whether that’s coaching a struggling temp or negotiating with a client, and you’re organised enough to run recruitment, admin and training in the same week without losing track.
- A full driving licence and your own car would help, given the travel between sites.

Why Apply
This is varied, hands-on work with responsibility across recruitment, training and client relationships, not a single narrow lane. You’ll get exposure to senior management and director visits, and the chance to shape how teams perform across two locations. For someone who wants coordination experience that actually builds towards something bigger, this is a strong step.
