Before and After School Club Assistant

Location: Horley, Surrey

Hours: Monday to Friday 07:15 - 09:00 and 15:00 - 18:00 (Split Shift)

Are you an energetic childcare professional looking for a rewarding role that fits around your day? Join a vibrant primary school team in Horley to deliver high-quality wraparound care, helping children start and end their school day with a smile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run Engaging Activities: Plan and lead fun games, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and sports.
  • Manage Morning and Afternoon Transitions: Welcome pupils at breakfast club and ensure smooth handovers to teachers and parents.
  • Serve Meals and Snacks: Assist with preparing and serving healthy breakfasts and afternoon snacks.
  • Ensure Child Safety: Maintain a secure, clean environment following school safeguarding standards.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Support children's social development, teamwork, and confidence in a relaxed setting.
  • Liaise with Parents: Provide friendly, helpful updates to parents at drop-off and collection times.

Requirements

Must-Haves (Essential)

  • Hands-on childcare experience (school, nursery, or wraparound care setting).
  • Availability for both morning (07:15-09:00) and afternoon (15:00-18:00) shifts, Monday to Friday.
  • Approachable, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to complete one).

Nice-to-Haves (Desirable)

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years.
  • Valid Paediatric First Aid or Food Hygiene certification.
